Recording the story of your life for you and your family to enjoy now and into the future.

I help to capture family stories, treasured memories, and recollections so that your children, grandchildren, and future generations can know, enjoy and feel pride in their family identity

I help all my storytellers to reflect on their life journey and to recall long-forgotten memories, giving my storytellers’ children, grandchildren, and partners recordings of stories and anecdotes that they have not heard.

But, it’s more than that. My storytellers tell me without fail just how enjoyable it is to be listened to, to recall and reflect on memories and to share their life story. For a storyteller to know that their stories are of real value to their friends and family is hugely comforting and the process of recall hugely validating.

Have a look at the various packages to see how best I can help you capture and preserve your family stories.

Life Story Videos We film your life history interview which can then be edited into chapters with images, films or music added for context and colour.

Life Story Books The life history interview is transcribed and then skilfully edited to retain our storyteller’s words, tone of voice, and mannerisms so that each life story book paints a true portrait of the teller. Family photos and other images are added for context and colour.

Life Story Audio Memoirs Your life history interview is recorded and can be edited into chapters, a simple but wonderful way for families to capture more than just the stories.

‘Desert Island Discs’ style recording Inspired by Desert Island Discs we combine your music memories with your most important stories in this gorgeous recording.

At the core of all my packages is the life story interview. I use gentle prompts and questions to help storytellers to share their stories and reflect on their memories; childhood memories, family history, memories from school, ambitions, challenges they may have faced, careers, hobbies and the list goes on. I know exactly which questions to ask, how, and when. I know when to prompt and when to pause. I know how to encourage my storytellers to share their thoughts, feelings, reflections, and even values alongside the memories and the stories.

I know that recalling and recording memories is a truly positive and uplifting experience for the storyteller, as well as a wonderful legacy for the family, but it can be hard getting started. Sometimes storytellers think they haven’t got a story worth telling, others worry that they have forgotten too much, and others just don’t want to stop! I have had the honour of working with many, many families and know exactly how to help every storyteller to tell their own unique story - their life story - to really enjoy the process and to feel proud of the legacy they can share with family and friends.

How to encourage your parents to share their memories.

My letter that you may like to share with a parent exploring why recording memories is just such an incredible gift for the whole family!

While so many storytellers tell me how much they enjoy being able to share their memories, I am often contacted by families whose elders are reluctant to record their stories. There are many reasons why a parent may be reticent and while some people will always prefer to keep their thoughts and stories to themselves, maybe I can help to encourage your elders to share theirs. So, I have written a letter you may like to share to explain why recording memories is just such an incredible gift for the whole family.

“Alice, I think you are a total genius! It’s been such a good experience and we’ve been singing your praises to the family and beyond. It’s a lovely thing you do. ”

— Ros, 2024

You got the best out of me, you helped me to remember places and people that I haven’t thought of for years, thank you.”

— Phyllis, 2023

Alice is a wonderful, warm and caring and funny lady, who also excels at what she does.
I would fully recommend her to anyone and everyone”

— Helene, 2020
